Apple Pay is a secure and convenient digital wallet service that lets you make payments in stores, in apps, and online using your iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, or Mac.

Yes, Apple Pay also works without an internet connection for payments in stores that have POS terminals supporting NFC (Near Field Communication – contactless). Your device (iPhone or Apple Watch) stores in advance the necessary data to complete a limited number of transactions. Therefore, as long as the store’s POS terminal is online, the payment can be processed even if your device does not have internet access. These types of payments are just as secure as those made when your device is online. However, to add a new card or to make purchases online/ in apps, an internet connection is required.

No, you're not limited to just personal debit cards. You can add a variety of card types to Apple Pay, including your personal Mastercard Standard, Mastercard Credit, and business debit cards.

In this case, the token linked to the virtual card remains active.

As soon as the status of your physical card changes to ‘lost/stolen,’ the status of the token linked to the virtual card in Apple Pay also changes accordingly.

If you don’t receive the security code (OTP) via SMS during the card registration in Apple Wallet, it could be because the phone number registered with the bank is incorrect or there’s a technical issue. In this case, you can continue the registration by selecting the “Call ProCredit Bank Albania” option. This will automatically connect you with a Contact Center operator. The staff will verify your information in the system. If the details match and the phone number is up to date, they will open a request for manual verification of the card. This request is sent to the Digital Channels team, who will check the card and proceed with activating it for Apple Pay. Once the card is activated, you will be notified by the Contact Center about the completion of the process. The entire procedure is handled by the next working day after the request is opened.

Apple Pay does not store your actual card information on your device or Apple’s servers. Instead, it uses advanced tokenization technology, which ensures high security and maximum privacy during transactions.

Each payment is authorized biometrically, using technologies like Face ID, Touch ID, or by entering the passcode.

The bank sends an automatic message to the phone number you have registered in the bank’s system, confirming that your card has been activated and is ready for transactions through Apple Pay.

After adding cards to Apple Wallet, you can check the card you’re using for payment by tapping on the selected card and then tapping the three-dot icon on the right side of the screen.
There, you’ll see the card details, including:

  • the last four digits of the physical card
  • the last four digits of the digital token
  • the payment network type (e.g., Mastercard), helping you clearly identify which card is being used for the payment

If you have more than one card, you can also set which one you want to use as the default for payments.

  • Authenticate yourself using Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
  • Hold your iPhone near the ATM’s contactless reader.
  • Your digital card and a “tick” symbol will appear on the screen, indicating successful authentication.
  • Then, you can proceed with the ATM operations available, such as cash withdrawal or balance check, according to your bank’s policies.
